Mango
The delicious mango is a welcome addition to the menu in the summer months and the perfect everyday fruit for the whole family. Mangoes are a good source of fibre and an excellent source of powerful antioxidants including vitamin C and the carotenoids beta-carotene and vitamin A. Interestingly researchers have shown that supplementing your intake of beta-carotene before and during exposure to sunlight together with using sunscreen is more effective in protecting the body against the suns harmful UV rays than sunscreen alone. Great news especially as the mango season coincides with our blissful summer months.
Serving Size
½ cup of sliced mango (80g) provides 1 serve of fruit.
