Figs

The fig is one of the oldest domesticated fruits with references dating back thousands of years.

Figs grow all over the world and come in an astonishing range of varieties and characteristics. Unique in their sweet flavour and succulent texture, figs are not truly a fruit but actually an inverted flower.

They are shaped like small pears and their skin colour ranges from green and yellow to purple, black and brown. The seedy flesh is pinkish red or white with a sweet flavour.
